DevOps & IT Support Intern
About the Role
We are looking for a motivated DevOps & IT Support Intern to join our Infrastructure and Security team. This role provides hands-on exposure to both DevOps engineering and IT infrastructure support, with approximately 50% focus on DevOps and 50% on IT support and endpoint operations. You will work on application deployments, CI/CD pipelines, Docker, Linux systems, cloud infrastructure, monitoring, and automation while also supporting day-to-day IT operations such as laptop troubleshooting, software installation, OS updates, patch management, endpoint configuration, and IT asset management. This is a practical role for someone who wants to build a strong foundation in DevOps, Cloud, Linux, IT Infrastructure, and DevSecOps.
Responsibilities
- Assist with CI/CD pipeline development, maintenance, and troubleshooting.
- Support application deployments across development, testing, and production environments.
- Work with Docker and containerized applications.
- Assist with AWS cloud infrastructure and related operational activities.
- Support Linux server administration and troubleshooting.
- Monitor infrastructure, applications, logs, and alerts.
- Assist with Bash/Python scripting and infrastructure automation.
- Support Git-based development and deployment workflows.
- Assist with OS patching, security updates, and system maintenance.
- Perform IT asset management and maintain accurate hardware/software inventory.
- Configure and troubleshoot laptops, desktops, operating systems, and peripherals.
- Troubleshoot software installation, application, connectivity, and system-related issues.
- Assist users with Windows/Linux OS and common software-related issues.
- Support endpoint security, antivirus/EDR, device compliance, and security configurations.
- Assist with onboarding and offboarding of employee devices and accounts.
- Install, update, and maintain required software and applications on endpoints.
- Assist with network and connectivity troubleshooting.
- Maintain IT support documentation, asset records, and troubleshooting procedures.
- Coordinate with vendors and internal teams for hardware, software, and infrastructure issues.
- Follow IT security, access control, patching, and operational procedures.
What We’re Looking For
- Bachelor's degree or pursuing a degree in Computer Science, IT, Information Security, or a related field.
- Basic understanding of Linux and Windows operating systems.
- Basic knowledge of networking concepts such as TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, HTTP/HTTPS, and VPN.
- Basic understanding of Git and version control.
- Familiarity with Docker and containerization is preferred.
- Basic understanding of cloud platforms such as AWS is preferred.
- Basic understanding of CI/CD concepts.
- Basic troubleshooting skills for hardware, software, and operating system issues.
- Basic understanding of computer hardware, laptops, and peripherals.
- Willingness to learn DevOps, cloud, infrastructure, and IT support technologies.
- Good problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to document issues and follow troubleshooting procedures.
- Ability to work effectively with technical and non-technical users.
